Udaipur

Introduction:

The City of Udaipur is an enchanting and enthralling place of limpid lakes, verdant forests, palaces, gardens, temples, aesthetically surrounded by the Aravalli hills. Founded in 1559 AD by Maharaja Udai Singh , this is popularly known as the City of Lakes and also as the Venice of the east. Moreover, this is well eminent for the performing arts, crafts, and miniature paintings throughout India. The suraj pol or the sun gate is the main entrance to the City besides four other. The Lake Palace in the middle of lake Pichhola is an outstanding example of elegant beauty and architectural splendour.

Other interesting places worthy of a visit around Udaipur are themajestic Chittaurgarh, auspicious Jain Temples of Ranakpur, Eklingli, and Nathdwara, in addition to the great cool, calm, and charm of the Mt. Abu.
