Introduction:

Bangalore is the capital city of a southern state of India, Karnataka. It is a fast-growing city of India in the field of industries and commerce as well as in education and technology. Bangalore, once known as the Garden City, was the first to get electricity in India. It is also known as the pensioner’s paradise. Bangalore represents the technical advancement of India. The technical revolution in Bangalore geared up the city to become the center of national computer hardware and the software industries. The intrusion of foreign interest in term of business in Bangalore changed the traditional lifestyle into a cosmopolitan culture.

The name of Bangalore was Bengalooru in the past history and it has been recently renamed Bengalaroo again. According to an inscription found in a temple of Begur, King Ballalala of Hoysala Dynasty once lost his way in jungle while going for hunting. He met old poor women in the jungle who served him with earnest dedication. The women had nothing to offer than some boiled beans. Pleased with the hospitality of the women, the king named the whole city as Bengalooru meaning the place of boiled beans in Kanada. The change in the name due to the course of time and modernity made it Bangalore. By this inscription of 890 AD states that Bangalore is over 1000 years old. This city was ruled by a series of rulers starting from Cholas, Hoysalas, Vijaynagaras, Mughals and the British.

Bangalore is having a pleasant and moderate type of climate throughout the year. Its nearness to the seashore regulates the climatic conditions favorable to human existence. Its climatic condition makes Bangalore a dream destination. Summers are moderate while the winters are cool. The city gets rainfall during June to August. It is in the southern part of India with 949 meters above the sea level. It is flanked with major cities of India all around providing ample facility for easy transportation for tourists. Places to See


Vidhana Soudha
A magnificent building of the Neo-Dravidian style ,houses the State Legislature. It was conceived and executed by Kengal Hanumanthaiah, the former Chief Minister of Karnataka in 1956.

Attara Kacheri (High Court)
"Eighteen offices" is the literal meaning of this very elegant two storied building facing Vidhana far from there is the sprawling Cubbon Park, Vishveshwarajap Museum of Science and Technology and Venkatappa Art Gallery.

Lalbagh Gardens
This expanse of greenery is one of India's most beautiful botanical gardens. It was laid out by Hyder Ali and Tippu Sultan in the 18th century, Within the Gardens there is a beautiful lake with a water spread area of 1.5 Sq.Kms dotted with picturesque tiny islands. It is a good picnic spot.

Cubbon Park
This beautiful park, which spreads over 300 acres in the heart of the city, serves as the lung space of the evergrowing Banglore city. Designed by Lt. General Sir Mark Cubbon, in 1864, is dotted with beautiful statues, flowering trees, fountains and a library its midst.

The Government Museum
One of the oldest museums in the country, established in 1886, has a unique collection of sculptures, inscriptions, paintings, icons and also some relics from Mohenjodaro.

Visweswaraiah Industrial & Technological Museum
This museum is tribute to Sir. M. Vishweswaraiah the Architect of modern Karnataka, a must see for students and Science buffs, Which presents the amazing wealth of modern science.

Venkatappa Art Gallery
The Art Gallery has a permanent display of paintings and sculpture by the renowned artist K.Venkatappa.
